Hybrid Sports Car

To the delight of Al Gore and the Greenpeace, the sports car industry are finally giving attention to the environment and heeding to the call for a greener living. Top sports car manufacturers are coming up with their own editions of a hybrid sports car, and once again, our environmentally conscious Japanese brothers is the first to heed the call. Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Mazda all have released a hybrid sports car that doesn't necessarily sacrifice speed for gas mileage and the rest of the world's sports car manufacturers follow.

Hybrid cars used a combination of energy source for power. The most popular hybrid sports cars today run on battery cells combined with gas to deliver the horsepower that the people are used to when it comes to sports cars. Usually, the battery cells are used for cruising in the city and to fill the need for speed when you're in a freeway, you shift to gas.

Toyota released their first hybrid sports car, the Prius, which packs 408 mighty horsepower that can travel up to 435 miles on a meager 13.7 gallons of gas. For energy efficiency, the V6-powered Prius also uses electric-driven motors on each axle, making the sports car a highly esteem hybrid sports car in the industry. It packs enough power to accelerate from zero to sixty in 4 seconds reaching a speed of up to 155mph. The lightweight carbon fiber and the sleek Italian sports-cars-inspired aerodynamic design helps the sports car reach the acceptable speed for sports car buffs.

And of course, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept-E, this hybrid sports car has 470 combined horsepower and a futuristic interior design that a sports car lover couldn't complain about. Mitsubishi just refuses to trade style for sustainability and speed also, so they combined the three. The instrument panel combines shadow and light, and when the plasma indicator glows when you switch to the hybrid motor mode, you'll feel as if you're flying in some levitation cars of the future.

Going forward to the future, sports cars has to morph to inject energy-saving technology while filling up the need for speed. And it's reassuring to know that we are slowly getting there by just looking at the hybrid sports cars that are coming out today.
