Muscle cars refer to a variety of high performance automobiles. They are generally for drag racing competition with two-door rear wheel drive with a large, powerful V8 engine and special trim, intended for maximum torque and are classified as mid-size cars. While sport cars on the other hand are for road racing that are two-seat cars, or GTs, two-seat or 2+2 cars intended for high-speed touring and generally considered smaller.

Holding the top 10 slots of the top 100 muscle cars in the modern muscle car category are the following:

The Top 100 muscle cars list for various categories is a running list except for the pioneer category. The list undergoes accelerating revisions because the manufacturing of muscle cars is in constant development, most especially now that these cars gain noticeable popularity. They are featured in full-length films and even in animated movies. Most of these flicks, if not all, were in the blockbuster list. The existence of muscle cars nowadays is phenomenal in the youth market, too.
